In the meanwhile, I check the latest online notifications from TipRanks and Zacks. Both are my go to when looking for something to trade. There are only a few portfolio managers who can actually beat the market and TipRanks helps me find those managers. There are too many voices in investments, so I need to really focus who to listen to. I started using Zacks just recently so the verdict is still out on them.
I also like to squeeze in a workout late mornings. I started jogging a few months ago and am up to 10 miles a week. The days I’m not jogging I lift weights. I believe, to keep your mind sharp and make better decisions, I have to exercise, eat right, get enough sleep, and keep stress under control. Aside from working out, I’m also a pescatarian, avid reader, and meditate daily. These are important to me and I don’t think I will reach $90 million without having my physical and mental health in check.
In any case, after the market closes, I watch Bloomberg Technology. Throughout the evening, I’m reading latest news on my phone. Now as I write this, I’m realizing how much of a news junky I am.
Today, the market is way up based on the latest CPI report. Inflation looks to be easing. The DOW is up right now 1.46% at 33,252 and the NASDAQ up 2.62% at 12,821. I don’t buy stocks when the market increases this much. I do, however, look for covered call opportunities. Since I’m only holding one stock in the portfolio, NU would be my only choice and I’m not trading any NU options until earnings come out. Looks like that will be on August 15. So, again, even when the market is this hot today, I’m not trading anything. I get impatient when I go weeks without trading anything, but sometimes not doing anything is the best thing to do.
